Where and how did you first meet?
Remembering as if it was yesterday, Snarskis and I met at my classmate’s birthday party. We had a chat and it simply just clicked! I found out he was a digital artist and I had a soft heart of a ballerina. Ever since then, we started seeing each other a lot and I noticed we had a very common vision, dreams and goals in life. We became good friends and I dare to say one of the best. Only in a year’s time we started dating and I must admit it was love but at second sight. A few months after, he told me he would be leaving the country to pursue his career in England and left us tackling a long distance relationship for another year. I knew he was the man of my dreams, thus I shortly transferred my English Language degree course into another university and ran after him! And what can I say, it was the best decision of my life. London’s been our home for 5 years now.
First trip away together?
Paris! Yes, Paris mon amour! I am not going to deny, it was one of the most memorable and romantic days ever. It was our first trip together as well as the first time in Paris. We loved the idea of travelling by train and took the Eurostar from London St. Pancras straight to Paris city centre. I know it might sound cliché or sentimental but we felt really in love, in the city of love. We recently went back there just to awaken the memories.
Throughout these years of travelling together, Paris has also become the first city, where we came back for the second time. Weird, right?
Simone, what is the most romantic thing that Snarskis has ever done for you?
Simple things make me happy. He’s painted a few paintings of me, while we were surviving that painful long distance relationship. It was a painting of a girl on the swings – he knew I was a dreamer. It touched my heart and till very now I’m the biggest fan of his art and heart.
Snarskis, what is the most romantic thing that Simone has ever done for you?
It supposed to have been our first Christmas together, but I was already living in London. Simone was sorting out university paperwork and said it will be another 6 months until she comes here. I offered her to come to London for Christmas, but sadly she said she didn’t want to leave her family alone. My girl sorted it out perfectly and arrived with a huge red ribbon wrapped around herself in time for the Christmas Eve. I had no clue and it was the most pleasant surprise for me as well as the best Christmas gift.
What is your favourite travel destination and why?
It would be too difficult to choose because we are addicted to traveling so much. We love the world. Anywhere we go, we tend to take all our heart and so far we loved it all. Last year we’ve crossed the most of Europe. Having travelled to Portugal, Norway, Greece, Italy, Spain and then France, we could not exclude any of these gorgeous countries. We might classify them as number ones or seconds, but anything lower than this we think would not be fair. All of the countries are different, all of them are unique and all of them make us want to go back one day. As long as we feel that, any travel destination could be called our favourite.
What has been your favourite hotel that you have ever stayed in?
We believe it is very important to choose quality hotels for your holiday. Usually we research a lot prior to booking the right one. I could definitely pick out Tivoli hotel in Carvoeiro, Portugal. The best part was an astonishing view. Situated high at the edge of the golden cliffs and overlooking the ocean, for us this hotel had a dream settings. We were absolutely captivated by it.
Define your idea of romance?
We love water, therefore, we usually travel around the sea or ocean.Having a relaxed evening by the sea, watching the sunset with a glass of bubbly would probably be the perfect combination.Having a moment, when you can simply forget the rest of the world with your loved one, is the kind of romance for us. It heals. Other than that, we think it is important to try to find romance in every day. That’s why, we always light some candles in the evening and spend as much time with each other as we can.
What has been your most exciting adventure together?
Travelling together is the biggest excitement for both of us. I think we are great travel buddies! Every trip brings us new and exciting adventures, which we cherish very much. Last year, we travelled a lot through Tuscany with friends, which was one of the best quality times ever. We saw many little Tuscan hilltop towns and found Bolgheri the most spectacular. After having tried one of the most exquisite region’s and world’s best wines, we felt absolutely reconnected and having the time of our lives. We absolutely enjoyed taking advantage of sun at the Italian Riviera. Being there on their annual Ferragosto festival could not have been better. We liked visiting Pisa, but most of all, we think we even found our new city of love – Florence.
Favourite place to eat in the world?
Yes! We love food. Undeniably, we can confirm we’re Italian food lovers now. We had excellent meals back in Sicily a couple of years ago while visiting Taormina. Would definitely go back even if it was to have dinner at ‘Cinque Archi’, which is just at the end of a highly situated Taormina’s town centre. Absolutely incredible seafood and best local wine there.
How would you describe yourselves as a couple? (eg. Thrill seekers, foodies etc.)
Ha! It didn’t take long to think of it! We are definitely very diverse travel and lifetime buddies. Best soulmates for lifetime.
How do you decide on where you will travel to next?
Our main goal is to not travel back to any of the places we’ve already been just yet. First, we want to see as many new places as possible. Sometimes, we list down the countries we want to see and just pick one. So far, it has worked perfectly and we are happy to make the choices together.
What do you have planned next?
Yes, we already have some holiday time booked for 2016. We were thinking of travelling out of Europe this year. It might be Thailand or even hitting the road in California, but still yet to be decided, planned and discussed. We like keeping it a secret until we can shoot some breathtaking pictures!
What is your favourite thing about going away together?
We love that excitement, when your trip is due in a few days. We still feel like kids sometimes and can’t fall asleep just the night before haha! The best part is exploring new places and trying out new things and food together. The way I put it, we had a dream and we finally saw the dream, throughout the same vision. For us, not only in travel, but also in everyday life, it’s of the greatest importance having a common vision and supporting each other.
What is your dream trip?
It will stop being a dream if I tell you! But we are definitely working towards it. Every trip is a little treat for us both and a realisation of our dream places we want to see. Spending at least a month on a beach and exploring different exotic islands would be a goal! Surviving out of exotic food and learning about wild nature would be a lifetime treat.
