German Gymnasium has transformed its terrace into a magical world of fairy tales in partnership with German airline, Lufthansa and drinks partners Monkey 47 gin and Fever-Tree Premium Natural Mixers. Drawing inspiration from the mystical stories told by German story tellers, the Brothers Grimm, The World of Tales terrace is adorned with winter foliage, twinkling lights, warming throws and decorative details evoking nostalgic visions of eight of their most beloved tales – including Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin, The Golden Goose, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Hansel & Gretel.
These eight tales have also been recreated in the form of a cocktail list to celebrate its legacy and popularity around the world. Curated with some of the finest ingredients, the menu features bold and flavoursome serves such as Little Red Riding Hood served in a wolf-adorned cup and made from Monkey 47 Gin, Lillet Blanc, Byrrh and Fever-Tree Spiced Orange Ginger Ale. Those looking for an alternative winter warmer can opt for the likes of the Grimm’s Potion, a hot gin and tonic made from Monkey 47 Gin, Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic, apple juice and blueberries.
Adding to the experience, the menu focuss on popular German winter classics such as Roasted fresh chestnuts and a selection of Germany’s favourite sausages, including Currywurst and Bratwurst turned into hot dogs.

Following the success of last year’s Lodge d’Argent winter pop up, City restaurant Coq d’Argent has once again created a magical winter wonderland on its rooftop for the festive season, this time with an Arctic theme. This year’s Arctic theme sees two cosy igloo tents joining the familiar array of festive lighting, fur blankets and snowy decorations. For an added dose of winter charm, an ‘Aurora Borealis Cube’ has been installed in the restaurant’s lift entrance area, allowing guests to step inside for a simulated visual experience of the Northern Lights.
A brand new cocktail list has been created by Bar Manager Filippo Testa to reflect the colours of the Northern Lights in hues of green, blue and purple with such examples as Green Sky with Hennessy fine de Cognac, Jasmine, and Chandon; Star Walk with Hennessy fine de Cognac, Finca Malbec, creme de figue, vanilla, lemon, glitter jam and raspberries; and for something extra warming Arctic Wilderness, a unique hot cocktail combining Hennessy Cognac, grape tea, moscat sweet wine and ginger candy syrup. A winter warmer menu by Head Chef Damien Rigollet focuses on hearty dishes including Venison meatballs with a red berries sauce; classic Tartiflette; and Whole baked Vacherin cheese & croutons while desserts include Chestnut macarons and Warm waffles with hot chocolate and chantilly cream.
