Did you know that Chinese Valentine’s Day is on the 9th August this year? If we are honest, we didn’t really know either. Nevertheless, Bright Courtyard Club, the contemporary Chinese restaurant in Baker St known for their traditional Shanghai cuisine, are celebrating this romantic occasion the only way they know how- through their love of food. And as we love Chinese food here at H&L we thought we would share the love.
Chinese Valentine’s Day or ‘Double Seventh Festival’ originates from the Chinese myth which sees the 7th daughter of Emperor of Heaven and an orphaned cowherd being forced apart and allowed to meet only once a year on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. You learn something new every day!
Bright Courtyard Club have created a special sharing menu for two which includes delicious and decadent dishes such as Steamed Lobster with Garlic and Grilled Lamb chops with Black Truffle as well as modern Chinese classics such as Crispy Aromatic Duck and Seafood Hot and Sour Soup.
